Den Braven Romania, local subsidiary of Dutch group Den Braven, recorded a 40% rise in turnover in the first half of this year, to 16.3 million euros, thanks to a doubling of its exports and of sales to DIY stores.
Because of the major decline in investments in big residential, industrial, and commercial projects, renovation works saved consumption of construction materials in the first half of the year.
80% of the company's sales on the Romanian market targeted renovation works, which resulted in a 25% rise in sales of polyurethane foam, Den Braven Romania's main product.
Excluding the 6.9 million-euro exports, the company's sales on the Romanian market went up 7% in the first half of the year against the similar period of 2009, to 7.5 million euros.
