The Logans made by Dacia in Pitesti, the telephones manufactured by Nokia in Jucu (Cluj) and the fuels produced in Petromidia refinery in Navodari are the best-selling products abroad, which are manufactured on the local market, according to the top 20 exporters' ranking put together by the National Exporters and Importers Association (ANEIR) for January-April 2010. In the first four months of the year exports stood at 10.8 billion euros, 23.5% more than in the similar period of last year, with the top 100 exporters accounting for more than half the amount. Only four of the exporters are either state-held or held by Romanian entrepreneurs - Hidroelectrica, Oltchim, Interagro, and Compa Sibiu.
"We have noticed many changes in this period. Traditional industries, such as the petroleum and the metallurgical industry were replaced by companies such as Nokia and by car part manufacturers. For the first time the top 100 exporters included pharmaceutical companies. Shipyards are doing well," says Mihai Ionescu, secretary general of ANEIR.
