eMag, the biggest IT&C retailer on the Romanian market, generated 41m-euro turnover in the first six months of the year, up 64% from a year ago, in the context where the online retail market rose by 30%, in line with the company's estimates. eMag's general manager Iulian Stanciu maintains the increase mainly came amid showroom network expansion and in the wake of the introduction of services such as free delivery to clients' homes and the possibility of returning products within 30 days after purchase. At present, the company has five showrooms in Romania, namely in Bucharest, Cluj, Timişoara, Ploieşti and Iaşi. "The H1 trend is in line with our original projections, being boosted by the launch of services, the opening of showrooms in the main Romanian cities and the constant diversification of our product offer," stated Stanciu, 34, who joined the company in early 2010. eMag's takeover by Asesoft Distribution balanced it and allowed it to grow this year. The company projects 100m-euro turnover for this year, after the figure hit 64m euros in 2009.
