Sales of the over 200 stores present in Cotroceni Park mall of Bucharest, the most expensive shopping centre developed in Romania, revolved around 80m euros in the first half of this year, with visitors' average consumption bill standing at some 8-9 euros, in line with ZF calculations. "Retailers' H1 sales came at around 13-14m euros monthly for the entire mall. January was a good month, after which February and March were a disaster, with 11-12m-euro sales. Starting April, though, sales have begun to rise, and from talks with retailers, July was even better than June," Israel Visel, Cotroceni Park manager, told ZF. He did not disclose information about revenues generated from mall space renting. Instead, the number of visitors stands at around 50,000-55,000 people early in the week and goes up to 80,000-90,000 at weekends. The best sales month was December 2009, when visitors spent 19m euros in the mall that includes tenants such as Real, Inditex, C&A or Cinema City.
