Germany's Meffert group, which in 2005 sold Dufa Romania to Advent International US investment fund, and businessman Daniel Guzu, who in 2008 sold Fabryo varnish and paint producer, decided to return on the market this August, when they also made the first deliveries, reads BUSINESS Construct magazine.
Meffert returns on the Romanian market after five years and is considering building a plant from scratch or acquiring a domestic player on medium term. "Our comeback project is already in progress. We have selected our partners and in August we're making our first deliveries. Dufa brand already has awareness on the Romanian market," said Liviu Stan, managing partner with Dufa Tec, the new firm Meffert group will operate under.
While Meffert has the advantage of coming back with a known brand, businessman Daniel Guzu re-entered the paint market with Duraziv brand, which already operated on the adhesive segment, as he no longer had the right to use Fabryo name.
In a first stage, Guzu is set to invest 1m euros, with the plant's production capacity to stand at 40 tonnes of paint and plaster per day.
