The foreign investors that have bought land near 23 August locality, where Terra all-inclusive 50-ha resort was announced, maintain they will not develop any touristic resort in the following years in the area and that, though there was an investment plan at the moment the land was purchased, everything is just on paper at present.
"Who starts building villas and hotels during times of crisis? It was just a plan the company had two years ago, but which is no longer valid now," stated an official of CLH Turism, owned by Austria's CLH Immobilien Und Beteiligung, which several years ago bought 10 hectares of land in 23 August.
Nevertheless, the mayor and deputy mayor of 23 August maintain they are going to release town-planning certificates for the company to start construction works.
"In the wake of discussions we've had with these investors, we found out they would build two over 10-storey hotels and a 40-villa complex," stated Mugur Mitrana, 23 August mayor.
Moreover, Mitrana maintains the project has already been presented to Elena Udrea, the tourism and regional development minister, and that she was delighted by the two certificates and promised to facilitate the raising of funding for infrastructure and utilities investments.
