Sparkling wine Angelli Spumante & Aperitive recorded a 5% rise in volumes sold on the Romanian market in the first six months of this year, but the company's estimates for the second half of the year are reserved.
"On the sparkling wine segment we are hoping to preserve last year's figures, and expect a major fall on the aperitif segment. Our strong suit is that we have intensified exports, by tapping into new markets such as Belgium, Denmark, Russia, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Greece Hungary, our biggest, where I think we will reach nearly 1 million bottles this year," said Alin Ursu, manager of Angelli Spumante & Aperitive.
Angelli is the biggest local sparkling wine producer, with a 14 million-euro turnover last year and a nearly 2 million-euro profit, which employs 125. Apart from sparkling wine, Angelli's portfolio also includes intermediate products, such as aperitifs, vermouth, and sherry.
The company's budget for this year has already been modified three times, while next year's budget has been adjusted twice because of the new fiscal measures introduced overnight.
