Poland's Tymbark Maspex company, the biggest nectar producer domestically, for the first half of this year reported flat turnover from the first half of 2009.
Sales over this period can thus be put at 28m euros, a value reported in the first half of 2009.
The company's representatives specified La Festa brand, which brought the producer the leading position on the instant cappuccino market, boasted the highest sales increase in the first half.
"Over this period we focused on trade marketing actions, with final consumers responding to such activities. These promotional activities brought reductions, with shelf prices becoming thus more appealing," stated Krysztof Grabowski, general manager of Tymbark Maspex Romania.
All major players on the non-alcoholic drinks market have counted on promotional campaigns this year to keep sales at 2009 levels amid falling consumption.
"Consumers are further watching promotional campaigns in stores," Grabowski also said, estimating the VAT hike and the reduced salaries of public sector employees will be felt on all food market segments this year.
