Austrian group S&T, the biggest provider of IT services in Central and Eastern Europe, could reach 100 million euros in business in Romania in three years' time, as local companies resume investments in technology, as well as through regional projects.
"Unless a new economic collapse occurs, in three years' time we will definitely reach a 100 million-euro turnover in Romania. Last year S&T Romania's turnover stood at slightly less than 60 million euros," Thomas Streimelweger, CEO and founder of the group, told ZF in an exclusive interview.
The S&T group, the only IT provider with an extensive presence in Central and Eastern European countries, last year posted 411 million euros in turnover and is the biggest player in its field on the Romanian market.
Streimelweger bases his optimistic estimates about the progression of the Romanian business on the group's strong position in the region - an advantage when it comes to gaining international clients with operations in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as on the fact that "inevitably" both the Romanian state and local companies - from banks and telecom operators through to production centres - will invest increasingly more in IT.
