Alumil Greek aluminium trim producer, which owns a subsidiary in Romania, Alumil-Rom Industry (ALU), plans to boost production in Romania once the economy stabilises by building a new plant whose production should be exported to countries in the region. One of the locations currently considered is Oradea, at the Hungarian border.
"We want to relocate our operations to the areas where we feel we have a strategic advantage. We have already closed Czech operations and this market is currently covered by Greek production. In Romania, we have a well consolidated business and workforce costs are low," says George Milonas, owners and general manager of Alumil group.
Alumil already owns a plant in Bucharest and has recently expanded its operations to Filipeştii de Pădure, Prahova, where it plans to invest 5.8m euros in a production facility, a warehouse and a logistics centre.
Alumil's current production is now almost entirely sold on the domestic market, particularly the construction sector.
