The young people who once dreamt of being construction engineers now only want to work in a construction company, even accepting voluntary work for a certain period. However, at the opposite end are the employees made redundant from construction firms, who attend professional retraining courses hoping to find some work.
In 2007-2008, many HR managers had difficulties in recruiting as young graduates with no work experience used to ask for minimum salaries of 1,000 euros only because they were university graduates. Graduates became more realistic though last year, when they saw that months would pass before they were invited for an interview and salary offers were way below those of previous years.
