Ronald Binkofski, marketing, business and operations manager of Microsoft Poland, is the first expat to run the Romanian operations of the world's biggest software producer after the surprise withdrawal of Călin Tatomir, who had taken over as CEO two years ago. At the beginning of last month Microsoft appointed another Polish manager in Romania, Michal Golebiewski, who is in charge of Business and Marketing. Binkofski, who graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of the Jagiellonian University and specialised in mathematics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, has worked with Microsoft Poland over the last five years. "It is essential to continue to implement the company's business plans and pursue the priorities set out at the beginning of this fiscal year, and remain flexible to the progression of the local market," said Binkofski in his new capacity as head of Microsoft Romania.
Călin Tatomir says he left his position to spend more time with his family and to start a new business other than the IT consultancy business he already has.
