The transfer of the 400 RON (94m euros) sum from Romgaz Medias accounts to the state budget in form of a donation was erased from the agenda of Romgaz' general meeting of shareholders (AGA) on October 18, under the pressure of Franklin Templeton, the manager of Fondul Proprietatea ( Property Fund - FP) that owns 15% in the gas producer's capital.
The Economy Ministry is the main shareholder in the gas producer, holding 85% of its capital.
"We will further monitor the situation closely and try to build a dialogue with the parties involved to be sure the future proposals on this issue will be truly in the interest of Romgaz and will not harm shareholders, such as FP," stated Franklin Templeton officials.
One day before the Romgaz general meeting of shareholders, on October 17, Franklin Templeton publicly voiced its opposition to the transfer of 400m RON from Romgaz accounts to the state budget in form of a donation.
