Three banks have seen their guarantee caps for mortgage loans within the "First Home" scheme cut by 41.5 million euros, which were reallocated to six other banks.
The Greek from Banca Românească saw their guarantee cap supplemented by 16 million euros, after the half-yearly reallocation conducted by the Loan Guarantee Fund for SMEs.
The list of banks whose guarantee cap was raised also includes Bancpost, which was given 13 million euros more, for a total of 25 million euros and Millennium Bank, which received an additional eight million euros. Italians at Intesa Sanpaolo and the Greek at ATE Bank received an additional 1 and 0.3 million euros in guarantees respectively.
BRD, the second largest bank in terms of assets, which had been allocated the second largest guarantee cap, lost 14 million euros. The French, however, continue to have the second-largest guarantee cap, worth 136 million euros. The market leader, BCR, which has the biggest guarantee cap, has preserved it, at 215.6 million euros.
Piraeus Bank, another Greek-held bank saw its cap cut by 22 million euros, while UniCredit Ţiriac Bank lost 3.2 million euros.
