Industrial production, one of the leading indicators in the economy, continued to rise in September, but at a slower pace, while the volume of construction works remained in negative territory.
According to data of the National Statistics Institute (INS), industrial production was up by 1% in September against August and by 2.8% against the similar period of last year as seasonally adjusted series and as series adjusted for the number of working days.
Analysts anticipated a slowdown in the industry growth rate in the last few months of the year as a result of the constant deterioration in the expectations of economic operators and as a result of the slow recovery of Romania's main foreign trade partners.
Since it returned to growth, in November last year, industrial production has been fluctuating significantly from month to month.
