General managers of five-star hotels in Bucharest believe 2010 will bring them a turnover increase as a result of an economic rebound and of higher demand for accommodation and event organising services, reveal talks at an event about trends on the hotel market, organised by Trend Hospitality. Sonia Nastase, general manager of Bucharest's five-star hotel Howard Johnson, says demand for accommodation on the hotel market has been on the rise in the past few months.
On the other hand, Igael Porecky, general manager of five-star hotel JW Marriott, who has budgeted a 4-6% turnover increase for next year, believes that although the hotel market is starting to rebound, it is still difficult to raise accommodation fees in order to boost revenues per room. Michelle Meoni, CEO of the Continental Hotels chain, shares the same opinion, believing it is as yet hard to predict what will happen over the next period.
