Banker Nicolae Dănilă, former chief executive of BCR and currently a member of NBR's Board of Directors, has increased his liquid assets by almost two million euros from June through October, so that his financial assets reached about 20.8 million euros, according to his personal financial disclosure statement dated October 26.
He keeps most of his money in bank deposits, whose value stands at about 11.5 million euros, including investments with investment funds. From June through October, Dănilă increased the number of banks with which he has accounts open to no less than 15 compared with 7 as stated in June. The banker has more than 6 million euros in euro-denominated deposits, plus savings in domestic currency worth 23.2 million RON (about 5.4 million euros) and 50,107 US dollars.
A significant source of cash was the compensation package he got from Erste Group when he retired from his chief executive position at BCR in 2007, which is said to have amounted to 3 million euros according to information on the market.
Also as a result of the position with BCR, which he kept for seven years, Dănilă owns stock in Erste Group, the indirect majority shareholder of BCR, which was worth more than 5.5 million euros in October.
