Apple iPhone 4, one of the world's best-selling smartphones, is being used by Cosmote and Vodafone mobile telephony operators as a means of keeping and attracting high-income clients, reveal the commercial offers published by the operators.
Both Cosmote and Vodafone launched three tariff plans for iPhone, with the lowest tariff being set at 19 euros, a sum above the average telecom spending on the domestic market. At Cosmote, the average monthly combined income per user stands at around 5 euros, while at Vodafone the average monthly income from a subscriber stands at 14.1 euros, and that from a prepay client at 2.5 euros.
Subsidies offered with the acquisition of an iPhone 4 also show operators are targeting high-income users, and particularly those already in the network. Business users make another target for Vodafone.
Cosmote, the only operator that does not sell iPhone network-locked, had a cautious approach in subsidising the phone, including instead the biggest data traffic and number of SMSs, MMSs and call minutes against the similar subscriptions of Orange and Vodafone.
