Internet services last year brought the biggest increases both in terms of revenues and number of clients on the business, as well as consumer segment, despite the challenging economic environment, says Dinu Malacopol, general manager of Digital Cable Systems (which operates under the AKTA brand) and Dial Telecom companies, with 30m-euro turnover in 2009. Dial Telecom exclusively works with legal entities. Both firms are controlled by AIG US investment fund.
"For Digital Cable Systems, the main increase came on the segment of Internet access services (a 50% increase), fixed telephony (a several times increase) and digital TV," Malacopol stated.
"Interim estimates show that for the business Dial unit the overall increase revolves around 30%; for data services, for instance, the increase tops 60% for business clients and 45% for the unit targeting housing clients".
Overall, the two companies for 2010 forecast total turnover worth almost 35m euros. Malacopol specified, though, it was too early to provide final data on last year's revenues.
