The 9% revenue decline is a "better than expected result" for the company, given the challenging economic environment, commented Inaki Berroeta, who in December 1, 2010 took over the position of CEO with Vodafone Romania.
"Vodafone Romania's figures were above our expectations in the quarter that ended in December 31, 2010, considering we continued to operate amid a difficult economic background," stated the head of Vodafone Romania.
In April-September 2010, Vodafone's services revenues had dropped by 13%.
Orange, leader of the domestic communications market, also coped with falling revenues during the same period.
Vodafone announced an average revenue per user (ARPU) of 12.5 euros for post-paid clients, down 19% year-on-year, while for prepay card users the level of ARPU reached 2.5 euros, down 3.8%.
