Representatives of the Finance Ministry, tax consultants and businesspeople yesterday debated the main modifications brought to the tax legislation and their consequences at the ZF conference "Emergency modifications of the Fiscal Code. How they will impact the business world," organised in partnership with law firm NNDKP and tax consultancies PWC and Scot&Company.
Dan Lazăr, secretary of state in the Finance Ministry in charge of fiscal policy, gave assurances that there were no plans to modify the VAT or the flat rate this year. As for enforcement guidelines of the ordinance on undeclared incomes, they are set to be finalised by the end of February. Dragoş Bogdan, vice-president of ANAF (National Fiscal Administration Agency) in charge of the financial/tax control department cited the assistance received from the IMF and the European Commission to finalise these norms. On the other hand, tax advisors Mihaela Mitroi, tax advisory partner of PwC, Dragoş Doroş, partner of NNDKP Tax Advisory Services, and Dan Schwartz, managing partner of Scot&Company Consulting, talked about the importance of fiscal stability and predictability and about the need for clear application norms for the fiscal modifications approved at the end of last year.
