Great Britain's ambassador to Romania, Martin Harris, opened the BSE's trading session yesterday and spoke about the importance of developing relationships with the London Stock Exchange, after Fondul Proprietatea (FP) was listed in Bucharest.
The British ambassador's presence at BSE is a sign major foreign investors have renewed their interest in the Romanian capital market.
FP floatation is the "sparkle" that is likely to revive older projects and partnerships, considering the BSE and LSE have signed a collaboration protocol in the past.
"After FP was listed, I wanted to reach the BSE as soon as possible. I believe there is high potential for BSE growth in the future. LSE is the centre of the world's financial industry and has around 3,000 companies of over 70 countries. It is also an important moment to develop the relationship between the BSE and LSE. The LSE is aware of the major events in Bucharest and I believe the LSE would be interested in tighter collaboration with the BSE," said Martin Harris.
