Economy Ministry representatives are working on a project meant to help the SMEs that want to expand more quickly and raise funding from the Bourse. According to the project, the state would bear part of costs related to listing process.
The project is likely to be implemented starting next year and the state's non-reimbursable aid would stand at as much as 200,000 euros depending on the size of the company and of the IPO.
"This is a project we would like to implement. We want to find some "quite big" SMEs with turnover within the limit of 50m euros that should be representative for Romania's SMEs in terms of growth potential and that should raise massive capital through the Bourse. (...) Through this project we want to show the state is supporting such initiatives," explained Cezar Iliu, an adviser with the Business Environment department of the Economy Ministry, during a press conference at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE).
He also says that to have access to such a programme, the company should not be excessively indebted, its owner should not make his or her exit through the IPO and it should already have some resources of its own available for growth.
