Romania has just made it out of the crisis and the prices have already gone up on the market of construction supplies, considering the raw material costs rose and manufacturers want to preserve their margins at least at the same level as last year.
The most spectacular increase was that of reinforcing steel, which became up to 40% more expensive, yet construction materials distributors say this is normal at the beginning of the year and prices will go down towards mid year.
Local producers of such construction materials as adhesives, polystyrene, polyurethane foam say that they will raise the prices of their products by up to 10-11% considering they are coping with a hike in raw material prices.
On the other hand, the ceramic tiling manufacturers say they will not raise their prices in 2011, after the VAT increase of last year is already showing in the price of such products.
