A group of Dutch and German investors, who last year paid 4.7m euros to buy a cow farm belonging to Albalact from Raul Ciurtin, say they hold some 10m euros for expansion in Romania, with their biggest project entailing the construction of a 2,000-cow farm in Alba county.
"It's a group of German and Dutch investors that for the time being owns 10 companies domestically, all in the field of agriculture, and their number will continue to rise. The entity coordinating all these companies is called DN Agrar Group," says Sorin Anderco, general manager of DN Agrar Group.
Though he did not disclose the investors' names, one of the ten firms controlled by DN Agrar Group, namely Lacto Agrar, is sure to have sealed the deal with Albalact, and another company, DN Agrar Apold, will invest 8m euros in a 2,000-dairy cow farm.
"This will be Romania's biggest farm. The project started in 2008, the facilities are already there, with the farm set to be located in Garbova de Sebes, Alba county," Andero also says.
