In the Dealu Mare vineyard, following an investment of 6 million Euros, a group of Austrian investors together with a German investors have begun a business. Their goal: to manufacture high quality wines.
Oenologist Mihai Baniţă, the manager of "Lacerta Winery", said: "Nine varieties of < Lacerta > have been manufactured - six of white wine and three of red wine, all of them of premium quality. So far we have bottled 46,000 bottles and we expect out output to triple in the next two years. In our newly built wine cellar, we can process 540,000 kg of grapes each year, which can generate as much as 380,000 liters of wine ".
Mihai Baniţă has explained that "Lacerta""s winemaking method is designed to increase the quality of the wine. The technology relies on the gravitational principle, which fully eliminates the use of any pumping system, meaning that the flow of the liquids occurs naturally, without any aggressive mechanical action. this procedure is used by the most reputed winemaking houses in the world, ensuring a natural and special taste.
Between the years 2005 and 2010, the entire vineyard that "Lacerta Winery" holds was rejuvenated with international varieties of grapes and two Romanian varieties - "Fetească Neagră" and "Fetească Albă". This operation was followed by the construction of the wine cellar where the wines are made and bottled was built.
Targeted at the premium and super-premium categories, the "Lacerta" wines will be distributed exclusively through the networks of luxury hotels, restaurants and bars, through several specialized stores as well as through the company"s website.
