Austria's Wolf Theiss law firm, run in Bucharest by Bryan Jardine, switched back to growth in terms of revenues in the first three months of this year, after two years when the firm had to give up one third of its lawyer team and take other cost-cutting steps to uphold profitability.
"In 2009, the domestic office saw its revenues go down, but not significantly as we had projects in the pipeline from previous years. In 2010, we saw improved profitability, offsetting the slight revenue slide through cost-cutting moves, which included the renegotiation of the rental contract for the firm's headquarters. 2011 started with double revenues against the previous year, which encourages us to expect the revenues of the domestic office to increase by over 30%," stated Bryan Jardine, a managing partner of the firm.
Jardine did not specify the level of the company's revenues after the first three months or 2010.
Wolf Theiss representative says 2011 started with major deals in the energy, forestry, transport or agriculture areas, as well as litigation.
