Stock Exchange investors have a few more days left to buy shares in order to receive dividends disbursed by listed companies from profits made in 2010.
Today is the last day when investors can still buy shares of railway equipment producer VAE Apcarom Buzău (APC) in order to get the record-high dividend of 0.22 lei/share. At yesterday's price of 1.2 lei/share, the gross dividend yield is 18%. Today is also the last day for obtaining dividends from BAT Mediaş (BAME), which offers a yield of nearly 12%.
At SIF Moldova (SIF2 - financial investment company), the last day for dividends is Thursday, May 5th. Each SIF2 share yields a gross dividend of 0.09 lei until then, i.e. 6.35% of the 1.41-lei price.
At Petrom, Fondul Proprietatea (Property Fund) and the other SIFs, investors have around a week left to buy the dividend-earning shares.
Investors, however, must keep in mind that after the dividend date, share prices tend to undergo corrections on the market, with prices to potentially approach the value of the dividend yield. In other words, what investors would gain in dividends by buying shares on these days, they would lose because of the price correction.
