Medsana private clinic operator, controlled by Athens Medical Center group of Greece, says it will launch a 30m-euro investment in a private hospital as soon as it "sees the Romanian economic environment stabilise".
The company has had the intention to invest in this project for a while, with the first information emerging as early as 2007.
"At this moment, unfortunately, forecasts for the second half of the year are contradictory. We hope that nationally the economy will post a slight increase that should provide safety to our shareholders," said Vassilis Chaniotis, general manager of Centrul Medical Medsana. He added that delays in starting hospital construction were caused by the unfavourable economic climate.
"According to the feasibility study we drew up for the hospital, the necessary headcount for this project amounts to around 300 people", Medsana's boss said.
The deadline for Medsana completion is two years after the start of construction works.
