In an official letter to the international organization, Strauss Kahn wrote that he absolutely denies any allegations against him. He wrote that in an attempt to protect the institution he served with commitment, he decided to resign and use all his force, energy and time to prove his innocence.
Dominique Strauss Kahn is the third IMF director to resign before the end of the 5 year mandate.
Romania libera reads that the government might pile up around 7 billion euro from selling minority share packs at state owned companies. Similar plans of privatization are found in Poland or Bulgaria. For example, Bulgaria plans to gather 8.9 billion euro by privatizing 40 companies while Poland plans to collect 10 billion euro.
The newspaper reads that the money will be redirected to the National Development Fund, at the disposal of the government and the money will be used for investments. However, there are fears that a big part of the money will be used just to sustain investments.
