General prosecutor of Romania, Laudra Codruta Kovesi, is accused of plagiarism in her PhD. She will be audited next week by the Board of Ethics.
Political Investigations Group (GIP) led by Mugur Ciuvica claimed in May that the General Prosecutor's PhD work was plagiarism and that it had filed documents that supported the charge to the Ministry of Justice, the Superior Council of Magistrature (CSM) and the Council for Attestation of Academic Titles.
According to GIP, the PhD thesis is "a plagiarism from the very first sentence."
GIP claims that Laura Codruta Kovesi copied extracts from specialized works and even websites for students.
General Prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi told Antena 3 that she was rejecting the accusations GIP had made about her PhD. Kovesi also notified CSM so it would defend her reputation in this case.
