Mihai Voicu, NLP (National Liberal Party) vicepresident, stated that several DLP (Democrat Liberal Party) mayors in Timiş, Mureş, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Arad, Suceava and Dâmboviţa counties make obsvious lists of people who report to polling stations threatening them with welfare cuts, Mediafax press agency reports.
„Today, as in the past days, have been perpetuated some political statements and non-democratic and anti-constitutional actionsl. Traian Băsescu, as well as his friend, Viktor Orban, Monica Macovei, as well as her friend, Laszlo Tokes, make statements and act by means of the DLP structures in their attempt to block carrying out a democratic right, the right to vote, that we have earned with great costs after years of dictatorship“, Mihai Voicu stated.
He accused Traian Basescu, Monica Macovei, Viktor Orban and Laszlo Tokes of inciting Romanian citizens not to vote.
Also, he indicated that democrat-liberal structures in the country try by any means possible to hinder polling station presence.
The NLP representative announced that the Police has been informed in several such cases.
