Ziarul Financiar daily identified 10 key-points on the Ponta Cabinet agenda that ministers must deal with as soon as possible in order boost the economy, accordint to Mediafax press agency.
Increasing the european funds absorption should be the first priority of the Executive in order to make up for the drop of foreign investments from 8 billion euro, in 2008, to 1,9 billion euro, in 2011. The situation is even more dramatic as, in five and a half years, since the EU has provided the 19,6 billion euro thru the seven programs financed from structural funds, Romania managed to absorb only 9,17% of the total ammount from EU, meaning less than 2 billion euro.
Then, the drought must be stemmed by setting up a national irrigation program. On the agenda also has to be the state companies management privatization, with a deadline set for the end of this year.
Also, to prevent situations similar to Villa Dante, the Autonomous Direction for State Protocol must be listed at the stock market and put under private administration. These are the three most urgent matters that the Government must solve first.
Next is creating jobs and accelerating the development of sectors where jobs with a high level of qualification can be created - such as the IT&C industry or the energy industry, where Romania has a huge competitive advantage and well trained human resources. Then, quickening the building of new companies thru a program „The First Company“ in which the state would vouch for newly established firms that need bank financing on a business plan.
In infrastructure, the Government's mission is simple: all efforts for passing over the mountains on a highway. It must decide whether the highway will be made around Sibiu or Braşov, but as soon as possible, because until 2016 the necessary highway over the Carpathians must be ready. T
