Impeached president Traian Băsescu held a press conference at his campaign center, Tuesday afternoon. In the debut of his speach, Băsescu said he had noticed the air is laden with statements and wished to express his position.
The impeached president made an appeal to politicians to change their attitudes and urged for the cease of any political fight.

- I still haven't found the article of the Constitution that I have broken and thus being impeached or dismissed. Three weeks of political fight are enough, and three months, that will soon be fulfilled, since the lodging of power into the hands of the ministers of the Ponta Cabinet
- I am starting to publicly address questions: How much money did Romanians earn from the impeachment of the president? How much money did Romanians earn from the huge credibility loss as a result of the coupe? If the top politicians are involved in a neverending battle who is running the country of 22 million Romanians?
- I think that the three weeks of political fight and the three months old Ponta Cabinet must generate an immediate change in the attitude of all politicians, including mine.
- I call for politicians to stop any political dispute because the country is falling appart.
- I demand the Social Liberal Union (SLU) leaders to immediately stop any political fight and start another one for Romania, which means to start governing fairly.
- The Constitution must be revised in order for the unicameral Parliament to be introduced.
When asked about changes to himself, the impeached president replied: „I don't have much to change about myself because I'm impeached“.
