The Constitutional Court of Romania has made Monday an official to the Government. In the document, the Court specifies that it requested the permanent electoral lists, updated according to Law 3/2000 regarding the referendum and the lists that were used to consult the people on July 29th.
„Taking into consideration the different interpretations, that appeared in the media and in the Government press conference on August 3rd, regarding the info requested from the Government by the Constitutional Court of Romania on August 3rd, the Constitutional Court of Romania plenum comes back with an explanatory note“, according to a Monday press release.
In the press release addendum, it is shown that the CCR president, Augustin Zegrean, „Taking into consideration the different interpretations, that appeared in the media and in the Government press conference on August 3rd“ specifies that the CCR plenum „requested from the Government the permanent electoral lists, updated according to article 17, paragraph 2, of the Law 3/2000, lists that were used in the referendum for dismissing president Traian Basescu, on July 29th.“
The confusion regarding the requested addressed to the Government, as a result of the CCR sessions on August 2nd, seems to have been a result of an intimation made by a Court judge, who had dictated to an assistant the request to be received by the Government“, official sources, quoted by Mediafax press agency, stated on Monday.
Thus, the Government was requested to „update the lists“ of voters „instead of the updated permanent electoral lists“, sources specified.
