Judge Mona Pivniceru resigned from her position as a member of the Superior Conuncil of Magostracy. The resignation comes after PM Victor Ponta had recommended Pivniceru for the position of Justice minister.
The SCM plenum is to discuss Pivniceru's resignation in the meeting scheduled for August 20th, according to Mediafax press agency.
Should the resignation be accepted, Pivniceru will return to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, from where she can be detached as minister of Justice.
The SCM unanimously rejected, in Monday's meeting, Mona Pivniceru's detachment to office as minister of Justice.
