Last week, a mission of Israeli businesspeople, led by Mr. Zvi Oren, the president of the Association of Producers in this country, has made a two-day visit in Romania, in order to uncover the opportunities for investment on the local market.
In an interview granted exclusively to the BURSA newspaper, Mr. Zvi Oren told us that the main areas of interest for the Israeli businesspeople are infrastructure, agriculture and renewable energy.
In the talks he had with the journalists of BURSA, they asked Mr. Zvi Oren whether interest exists in the companies which the Romanian state intends to privatize, including CFR Marfă. Mr. Oren said that their visit to Romania was intended to allow them to gather information about the opportunities the Romanian market can provide. He also said that the interview with the journalists of BURSA also represents a source of information and has asked the officials of the embassy of Israel a list with the companies which the government is looking to privatize.
Subsequently, in the discussions which they had with the professional associations of Romania, Mr. Oren said: "We are interested in the privatizations of the companies from the portfolio of the Romanian state. Especially the railroad company (CFR). In my position as president of the Association of Producers of Israel, I will present the full list of the companies which are going to be privatized in Romania to the Israeli businesspeople".
The mission has also included Avigdor Kelner, President and CEO of A. Kelner Investments Ltd. Israel, and Ilia Volkov, senior vice-president of Maman Group.
Mr. Zvi Oren was born in Romania, in Sighetul Marmaţiei, he was a general in the Israeli army and currently does business in the railroad infrastructure area.
