On June 6th, RAJA Constanta Company signed with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, in Constanta, the project to expand the sewerage system in the village Valu lui Traian. The project is worth 26.3 million RON, of which five million is the contribution of RAJA Company. This project refers to the extension of the sewerage system by 36.8 kilometers, which will cover 108 streets, comprising the entire community. The document was signed by Rovana Plumb, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Felix Stroe, CEO of RAJA Company, and Cristinel Dragomir, Vice President of Constanta County Council. The event took place at the twelfth meeting of the Monitoring Committee of Operational Programme "Environment", held at Best Western Savoy Hotel, in Mamaia Resort. The event was attended also by Eugen Teodorovici, Minister of European Funds.
In addition to the project signed by RAJA Company, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has also signed five financing contracts for the development of European projects totaling about 25 million euros. The beneficiaries are local authorities and companies in Tulcea, Vrancea and Bucharest, and the project refer at “Letea forest conservation“, “Improving the management of the Black Sea sites“, “Natura 2000 Soveja“, “Cenaru and Reghiu Scruntaru“ and “Creating an integrated plan for the Danube Delta“.
"One year after taking office, the rate of absorption in Sectoral Operational Programme (SOP) “Environment“ rose from 4.37% to 16%. Specifically, between 2007 and May 2012, the amounts received from the European Union accounted 197 million euros. Now we have reached an amount of 500 million euros", said Rovana Plumb.
