Premium Auto Motors, the only authorised Jaguar dealer on the Romanian market, aims to sell 120 Jaguar limousines this year, up 40% against last year, due to the stepped-up expansion of its dealership network.
"Our number one priority this year, and for 2008, is to develop and consolidate our national network of dealers, as well as to open another Jaguar and Land Rover dealership in Bucharest," stated Cristian Serban, commercial manager of Premium Auto, the official dealer of Land Rover and Jaguar in Romania.
On the domestic market, the majority of importers are focusing on extending their dealership networks in order to take advantage of the market's growth throughout the entire country, as well as to increase their competitiveness.
Currently, the only Jaguar dealership on the Romanian market is in Bucharest and belongs to Premium Auto Motors, the sole authorised Jaguar dealer.
"Apart from the Premium Auto Motors dealership in Bucharest, there are several Land Rover dealerships in Brasov, Iasi, Constanta, Timisoara, Cluj and Bucharest, however, at present they are applicant dealers, which follow the manufacturer's compulsory programme and are also assessed by the importer, in order for the applicants to secure a definite authorisation," stated Cristian Serban.
In 2008, along with investments from each dealer to comply with standards imposed by the manufacturer, the company intends to set up new dealerships, to allow sales to increase at the market's full potential.
"In 2008, we intend to expand our dealership network to cities like Craiova, Braila, Galati, Satu-Mare, Sibiu, Targu-Mures, and Maramures county," added Serban.
The Jaguar representative believes that on a market with a high growth rate, the only viable strategy is an aggressive one.
