"This is evidence for abusive behaviour and barbarous methods of a person being in a permanent conflict of interest"
Media Monitoring Agency Active Watch sent to PSD [Social Democrat Party] and PD-L [Democrat Liberal Party] a protest detailing and asking for taking action against the manner in which ZIUA de Constanţa was taken out of the press stands owned by Conpress Group, company which has Radu Mazăre as one of its shareholders.
Active Watch acknowledged the fact that the warning signal of ZIUA de Constanţa about the infringement on the liberty of the press in Constanţa ruled by Radu Mazăre. Mayor, chief of PSD county subsidiary and chief of the local public administration, former journalist Radu Mazăre didn't consider it necessary for an opposing newspaper to be distributed by the press stands he owns, by the distribution company of which he is one of the shareholders.
The press release sent by ZIUA de Constanţa newspapers to all media was assumed by websites like www.hotnews.ro, www.9am.ro, www.ne-cenzurat.ro and www.mangalia.mn, but also by Evenimentul Zilei [national daily newspaper] (http://www.evz.ro/articole/detalii-articol/848252/Ziua-de-Constanta-vs-Radu-Mazare).
"Mazăre has done before actions of this kind"
A virulent reaction also came from the president of Active Watch, the journalist Mircea Toma, who expressed his support to ZIUA de Constanţa. "It's intolerable for Romania as EU member to confront with flagrant deflections from fundamental principles of human rights and democracy values. This is evidence for abusive behaviour and barbarous methods of a person being in a permanent conflict of interest: involved in politics, business and public administration. This censuring action is to be blamed and we should do something to make Mr Mazăre pull himself together". You may find below the entire content of the protest of Med
