South-Korea's Samsung company, one of the world's biggest producers of latest generation TV sets, will launch the first LED TV sets that allow the viewing of 3D images in Romania in April, with prices set to go even as high as 16,000 RON (around 4,000 euros). Raul Filip, division manager of Samsung Electronics Romania, says the new products will be strongly promoted amid estimates there will be clients interested and willing to pay even as much as 4,000 euros for such a TV set on the Romanian market. "We plan to promote this product aggressively. The promotion budget is substantial and we want clients thinking of LED 3D to say Samsung," added Filip, without providing further details about the promotion budget. Last year, Romanians bought approximately 500,000 latest generation TV sets, for which they paid 180m euros, according to market estimates and data provided by GfK market research firm. Filip says that 5% of the TV sets Samsung sold in Romania last year were of the LED range and the percentage could double to 10% in overall deliveries this year.
