MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU, Romania (May 19, 2010) -United States Marines and Sailors currently deployed to Romania's Mihail Kogalniceanu Airfield have spent the last week helping to improve the community near their home away from home.
The Marines, deployed with Black Sea Rotational Force 2010, are in the process of completing the first of several projects of this type they have scheduled over the deployment.
For the first project, the Marines refurbished the living areas of a shelter for teens and young adults who suffer from HIV and other illnesses in the town of Mihail Kogalniceanu.
Media are invited to join the U.S. Marines and Sailors on their final day of work, May 20. Interested media are encouraged to RSVP by 9 a.m., May 20; but may also plan to meet at the work location, the Asitanoie House, located at Strada Primaverii #12, Mihail Kogalniceanu, no later than 9:45 a.m.
