Albin Budinsky, the CEO of Schenker Romtrans, part of Germany's Deutsche Bahn transport giant and one of the biggest private companies on the freight transport market, says the company's revenues rose by 18.2% to around 16m euros in the first three months of this year.
"We received more expedition demands and the company's main clients have started manufacturing more and hence shipping more. Also, demand from clients in the construction and car fields has started rebounding," stated Budinsky.
The company works with several subcontractors for shipping.
"2010 was the year of consolidation and this year will be a year of growth. In the first three months we made profit, even though these are not the best months of the year. The start of 2011 is promising, but however we do not have time to relax, we must be active", Budinsky said.
He maintained turnover levels similar to those of three years ago had not been reached, yet, and despite of his optimism about this year, he was still waiting to see what direction the economy will follow in the next quarters.
