The four-star Iaki Hotel of Mamaia, owned by former football player Gheorghe Hagi, will have 70% of its 122 rooms occupied in the period of Easter holidays. The hotel will collect at least 12,000 euros for the four days worth of business.
After the first three months were slower than last year's in terms of event organization and occupancy rate, the 560 lei (136 euros) package put up for sale brought the hotel more clients outside the season. For this year, the hotel's officials budgeted turnover worth 13m lei (3.2m euros), up 10% in lei from last year.
"We had occupancy rates as high as 20% in the first three months of this year. Over Easter, the hotel will have revenues of several thousand euros," said Anca Nedea, general manager of the hotel.
Tourists will stay in the hotel from Friday to Tuesday morning. The hotel's clients include expats taking their families to the seaside.
