Horaţiu Cercel, the owner of Concefa Sibiu (COFI) construction company, recently promoted to the first tier of the Bourse, says his company will be trying to make the most of the projects the state has recently started in the field of infrastructure.
In the past two days, works for pan-European corridor IV worth above 1.4bn euros over two years have been tendered, while on the railway and bridges and tunnels segment there are also projects totally worth over 600m euros about which Cercel says the Transportation Ministry has moved to carry out this year.
"We are here on the Bourse as, today happens to day of a boom in the Romanian field of infrastructure and we want to benefit from it through adequate funding. We want our presence on the Bourse to be the bell ringing renewed growth for Romania's constructions sector. (...) This year's works will set the entire constructions market in motion and I expect them to create over 50,000 jobs," Cercel stated.
The 39-year old Cercel is one of the youngest millionaires on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, holding 70% in Concefa, valued at 19m euros on the market, and also 50% in Real Construct, the developer of Carpatina housing complex, where 12m euros were invested.
