Prolemn producer of Reghin, controlled by Kastamonu Entegre firm, a major player in Turkey's wood processing field, ended the first half with 17.4m-euro turnover and a total volume of over 7.12 million sold doorskins.
By comparison, during the same period of 2009, Prolemn reached 17.6m-euro turnover and sold 6.15 million doorskins.
"In the first half, we registered a relatively constant turnover trend against last year. At the same time, in the first half we sold around 16% more Doorpan doorskins against the similar period of last year," Mustafa Rafi, head of Prolemn's financial department, told ZF Transilvania.
Prolemn says the company's first half turnover was also influenced by the fact that starting last July it gave up manufacturing massive products, particularly plywood, which held a significant weight in January-June 2009 sales. For 2010, Prolemn management has budgeted a 20% sales increase against 2009, considering it ended 2009 with turnover of around 35m RON (158m euros).
"(...) We also sought various ways of cutting costs, so that we've managed to manufacture at lower prices and achieve higher sales," Rafi said.
