Low-cost carrier Blue Air, controlled by businessman Nelu Iordache, will drop two of the three destinations operated from Cluj-Napoca, namely Rome and Paris, starting March 28th, when it also stops operating on Suceava-Vienna route, the company's officials say. The decision to give up the flights from Cluj and Suceava comes six months after these destinations were introduced on the market. "The routes were not profitable, because the flights registered low load factors. Though we supported them financially, we came to the conclusion these flights did not justify even their operating costs. This is a commercial decision," stated Florentina Ivan, PR manager of Blue Air. Blue Air is the biggest Romanian-held airline, with 140m-euro turnover and 1.7 million passengers carried last year. Florentina Ivan added Blue Air planned to transfer the two flights from Cluj to the Sibiu airport, from which there are no flights to Rome or Paris.
