Croatia-based pet supplies and accessories store, Pet Centar will open its first store in Romania early next month, in Military Shopping Center, developed by Atrium European Real Estate Limited.
“The store will be located at the main entrance into Auchan supermarket, near Media Galaxy, with separate passageway from the parking. The gross leasable area is 860sqm, the contract being for 10 years, with the possibility to extend it to 15”, Bogdan Dancau, director of Atrium European Real Estate, the developer of the project, told Wall-Street.
Stores in Pet Centar chain usually have a large amount of space, and most of the times are even represented by a big-box standalone unit. The first store of the company in Romania, called Maxi Pet will open doors next month, most likely on May 7.
Earlier this month, Pet Centar announced it leased 1,065sqm warehouse space in Mega Center industrial campus in western Bucharest. The contract was concluded for a five-year period, according to the property advisor of the deal, King Sturge.
Militari Shopping Center was opened in Spring 2009 and represented an investment of €75 million. The tenant mix includes retailers such as Deichmann, Decathlon, C&A, Humanic, Takko, Auchan and New Yorker. The project has been expanded last year, and the GLA has been increased to 53,100sqm.
Militari Shopping Center recorded last year revenues from rents of €5.7 million, and the total value of the project increased to €78.8 million according to the annual financial results of Atrium.
