The owners of Opera Center and Europe House office buildings of Bucharest, two of the first modern "glass" buildings, have recently rented spaces to Adecco Resurse Umane and BCR Banca pentru Locuinte, firms that are undergoing relocation. The two buildings, among the first to be raised in the capital city, boast positions close to Piata Eroilor and Piata Victoriei underground stations. Nevertheless, after years when the two buildings have been among the few solutions for multinationals opening offices in Bucharest, once new buildings have been finished, more modern ones and with wider parking lots, vacant spaces have started emerging in the former. "After the departure of HP, Oracle and Microsoft, around 40% of Europe House space has been vacant. Meanwhile, we have rented a 800-sqm space to BCR Banca pentru Locuinte, with offices now being fitted out, so that the headquarters could become operational in around one month," stated Marian Roman, general manager of Europolis investment fund, owner of Europe House building of Piata Victoriei. An important departure has been also registered in the case of Opera Center, with PricewaterhouseCoopers and D&B David and Baias law firm relocating to Lakeview, leaving behind vacant spaces with an area of around 3,500 square metres.
