Steaua defeated last night Vasas Budapesta with 2-0 in a match in which it used two different systems. The first 45 minutes was a total fiasco, but in the second half, with Tănase in a great shape, Steaua dominated and played at a very high level
For the first friendly match of the second training camp, Steaua has chosen an adversary well-known in the history of football in Hungary, but modest in this moment. Vasas Budapesta, the occupant of the 10th place at the end of the tournament, but with many titles and trophies obtained until the end of the 70’s.
Stoichiţă surprised by modifying the system used in the other two friendly matches played in the first training camp. He passed from 4-4-2 to 3-4-3. Stoichiţă has titles two central defenders from the team left to Antalya, but two of them didn’t pass the test in the first half. Baciu started the match with a big mistake, passing straight to the adversary, but Tătăruşanu avoided the goal. Then it was transformed in a pole by a forward, but Steaua got away with it again. Not even Tudose excelled, being the target of the critics made by Stoichiţă. Only Jelev was unhesitating in a system in which Steaua felt very uncomfortable, being dominated by a limited team.
2. Inexistent attack
Even if on the paper it seemed an offensive team, Steaua didn’t make anything in the attack! Andrei Ionescu played probably for the first time as forward on the right side, while Stancu and Surdu struggled in vain, because they didn’t posses the object of their work and they also seemed to be discomfortable of the position they had.
3. Only
